STORY vol.9
AUTUMN / WINTER 2025
Memories

The RUMCHE Autumn/Winter 2025 collection was created based on fragments of designer Rumi Yasuhara’s personal memories. Inspired by her horseback riding experience in the vast nature of Hokkaido, acorns and seashells she collected with her daughter, ladybugs found in the wild, flowers blooming in the sun, the starry sky she gazed at while glamping (glamorously camping), and the cityscape imprinted on her mind during a canal cruise in Copenhagen—these memorable scenes have become the foundation for this collection. "Last season, the theme was 'Galaxy,' which gave me time to reflect on the future. In contrast, this season, I felt the urge to cherish the present moment, looking back at precious memories and focusing on living in the now," explains Yasuhara.

The first thing that catches the eye are the items directly inspired by the landscapes that were the source of inspiration. A knit vest depicting the designer’s daughter riding a horse, and a shirt featuring a sketch of Copenhagen’s cityscape, expressed through embroidery by Indian artisans. Beautiful motifs from nature, such as flowers, acorns, ladybugs, seashells, and stars, are rendered as colorful, pop-style embroidery and randomly incorporated into shirts, pants, and dresses, the garments capturing the beauty of nature.

This season, RUMCHE introduces the iconic ‘Chain Flower’ as part of its original distinctive prints. Inspired by the signature Bond Yarn technique, this interconnected floral pattern was freshly hand-drawn by Yasuhara and vividly recreated at a high-end dyeing factory in Kyoto. The bold print appears on a wide range of items, including dresses, skirts, and pants. Additionally, an abstract paint print, inspired by Yasuhara’s vision of sunlit moments, is featured on dresses, shirts, and trousers.

The ‘Chain Flower’ is further incorporated into knitwear, featured as rope-knit decorations on sweaters. Tiered dresses, blouses, and skirts with asymmetrical ‘petal gathers’ create a dynamic volume that adds a lively and vibrant touch to the entire collection. Additionally, playful embroidery inspired by Yasuhara’s doodles is subtly hidden in parts of the dresses and skirts. The collection is completed with sheer high-neck tops perfect for layering, while bond yarn accessories featuring the "Chain Flower" motif in chokers and key charms, to accentuates your styles.

This collection, woven with beautiful scenes captured in the garments, embodies the desire to enrich the hearts of modern women and add color to their everyday lives.
